The Washington Post is not a "news" outlet, they are purely an opinion sheet

Why is the Washington Post considered a "news" outlet?  From today's fawning piece on Rep Liz Cheney. It is filled with comments like this: "Should the Republican Party continue to defend Trump's actions and parrot his falsehoods?" "[Trump] lied about the 2020 election" 

My point is simple: how can you say you are a "news" outlet when your news stories are filled with opinion & editorializing? There is no attempt at any balance. The news stories are just editorials for the Democrat party.  Why not just label the Washington Post  as an opinion sheet? 

The problem that all this editorializing creates for me is that I don't put much weight on any of their pieces because I know how biased they are on issues that I can evaluate.

Fox News: Biden 'praying' Chauvin jury reaches 'right verdict,' calling case 'overwhelming' President offered support in Monday call with George Floyd family

 Look at how the main stream media reacts differently to Trump making comments on the legal process versus Biden. From Fox News:

As the nation awaits a verdict by the jury in the trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin, President Biden said on Tuesday he is "praying the verdict is the right verdict."

Briefly speaking with reporters at the White House, the president discussed his call on Monday with the family of George Floyd, the Black man in Minnesota who died after he was seen on video – handcuffed – saying "I can't breathe" as Chauvin kneeled on Floyd's neck. His death sparked nationwide protests last spring and summer over police brutality against minorities and systemic racism.

Chauvin is charged with second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter in Floyd's death. He has pleaded not guilty to all three charges.

The Washington Post grossly misquotes Trump's conversation with the Georgia Secretary of State

Washington Post admits it misquoted Trump's call to Georgia elections investigator when newly released recording revealed he DIDN'T urge her to 'find the fraud.' Trump DIDN'T say she'd be 'a national hero.'  

The Post story is gutted. But will most people ever know they published made-up quotes? Why isn't this correction front-page news? Will the rest of the media give this the same coverage that they gave the original fake quotes?  

These false quotes are just like the misrepresentation of Trump's telephone call with the Ukrainian president. Major news stories are now written based on one anonymous source that again turns out to be a lie. Did the Post's one anonymous source lie to them, or did they lie and make things up?  

Because the Post will never reveal this anonymous source, even though the best of them is that this single source lied to them, we will never know whether the source lied to them or the Washington Post simply made up the false quotes.
