Democrats now say that "We own the economy"
"We own the economy," [DNC chief and Florida Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz] said. "We own the beginning of the turnaround, and we want to make sure that we continue that pace of recovery, not go back to the policies of the past under the Bush administration that put us in the ditch in the first place." . . .
Obama made recently [made a statement] to employees at a North Carolina company that manufactures LED lights . . . "We stabilized the economy, we prevented a financial meltdown, an economy that was shrinking is now growing," the president said. . . . .

Markie Marxist sez: "That's true! We own the beginning of the start of the commencement of the inception of the beginning of the turnaround, I mean, you know, when it happens. Don't look at me like that! It's gonna happen! It's gonna happen! Really it is! I mean, that's what we say, anyway. So, it must be true. We Marxists never lie! I mean, you know, except for when it's convenient for us, but that's just a common communist sense thing."
Seems obvious to me. Now that the Dems figure things have got as bad as they'll ever get, it's now theirs. Every thing up until now is the fault of the evil Bush/Cheney/Halliburton cabal, and all the expected gains from now on are due to the enlightened economic genius of Obama. Rest assured, however, that any further "bumps in the road" will still be residual effects of the previous administration.
The Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 was not a tool of the Bush Administration. Dems, particularly Barney Frank (as well as others), used this as a tool to cram bad loans down the throats of Bankers. Can we say ACORN?
Liberals will argue that the above was not the case, but there seems to be plenty of evidence contrary to the Liberal's argument that the CRA was not at fault, nor any factor other than conservative greed was to blame for the economic meltdown.
So, in a sense the Dems refuse to acknowledge their role in the problem, yet still lay claim to ownership of the economy?
I guess that Erma Bombeck was right: The grass does grow greener over the septic tank...
