Sword-wielding man shot by clerk at Dairy Queen identified
The man who was allegedly wielding a sword during an attempted robbery at a central valley Dairy Queen when he was fatally shot by a store clerk Sunday afternoon was identified Monday by the Clark County coroner's office as 36-year-old Bongkuk Pak.
The coroner's office said Pak, whose city of residence was unknown, died from gunshot wounds to his torso.
Also Monday, Las Vegas police announced they have arrested a woman they say is Pak's accomplice.
Carol Matteo, 47, was booked Sunday on charges of robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery and burglary. Police said Matteo dropped off Pak at the Dairy Queen at 2595 S. Maryland Parkway, near Sahara Avenue.
Pak, wearing a mask, then tried to rob the restaurant with a sword, police said. A clerk shot and killed him. He died at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center. . . .

Note to self: Bringing a sword to a gunfight may be hazardous to my health!
Maybe if the owner of said Dairy Queen had posted a sign stating that clerks carried guns, the would be robber would have found a store with a 'No Guns Allowed' sign, and then robbed and or killed someone else?
Guess he'd never seen the Indiana Jones sword vs gun "fight"...
