Police say "Homeowner Shot, Killed Intruder"

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, Fla. -- A homeowner shot and killed an intruder who apparently tried to rob a residence near Vero Beach on Thursday morning, authorities said.
Indian River County sheriff’s deputies are at the home near 47th Avenue and First Street.
Authorities said the homeowner pulled a gun on the intruder, fatally wounding him.

The 20-year intruder who was killed had a son and another kid on the way. It looks like he turned to a life of crime after being laid off. Even though he was only 20, he already a (sub-prime?) mortgage to pay.
