The 14 hour cover-up?
I thought that if you really wanted to hide something you put it out late on Saturday night. That way it can't get into the Sunday paper, but you have essentially a full newscycle by Monday morning. Wasn't that the whole point of the timing of the infamous Saturday Night Massacre? So Cheney puts it out on Sunday morning instead of Saturday night? There are lots of witnesses to what happened, presumably including Harry Whittington, the person who was wounded.
Heck, that's not surprising. The VPC has taken the opportunity link the Cheney mishap to gun control and to blame the Bush administration and the "assault" weapons ban expiration for the supposed "epidemic" of gun injuries and fatalities, ignoring the fact they have been declining in past years or the fact that the "assault" weapons ban expiration had nothing to do with this incident.
When did we expect the anti-gun groups to stop using tragic accidents to shamelessly further their cause--the removal of all firearms from law-abiding citizens. I would have expected nothing less from them.
Additionally I know see Harry Reid calling for full disclosure and interview with Vice President Cheney. I am so glad the democrats would like to waste my tax money investigating an incident that has been called an accident by all those involved. Maybe they need to interview every person involved in any sort of accident-- I slipped on ice last week, maybe he would like to interview me?

Unsurprising and pathetic.
