As a former web pressman who printed newspapers, I must wonder what impact did the blossoming of the internet and digital printing which has led to the loss of many a printshop has done to the political spectrum of our newspapers.

As a printer, I have seen the spectrum of politcal viewpoints ranging from far right to far left wing, and everything in between. Which is something that I am very proud of, as it proves that our Founding Fathers were correct.

However, with the loss of smaller independent papers, I feel as if though we have lost a great deal of diversity of viewpoint in printed media. We have, however, gained a great deal of diversity with the World Wide Web.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I prefer a printed newspaper with a cup of coffee in the morning. Not to mention that spilling my coffee on a newspaper may be irritating, but it sure beats having to pay to have a laptop repaired!

Last, but not least, the net is great, but trying to find verifiable data on newspaper demographics is difficult at best...
