"Modern man a wimp says anthropologist"

Any interesting discussion of these points can be found here.

Many prehistoric Australian aboriginals could have outrun world 100 and 200 meters record holder Usain Bolt in modern conditions. . . .

Any Neanderthal woman could have beaten former bodybuilder and current California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in an arm wrestle. . . .

* Roman legions completed more than one-and-a-half marathons a day carrying more than half their body weight in equipment.

* Athens employed 30,000 rowers who could all exceed the achievements of modern oarsmen.

* Australian aboriginals threw a hardwood spear 110 meters or more (the current world javelin record is 98.48). . . .

Hmmm, I think Peter McAllister is wetting himself excitedly over nothing that can be proved one way or the other...

Arnold wasn't that good of an arm wrestler. Try Magnus Samuelson... Back then, everything involved physicality, and people trained for such things from a very early age. People back then also didn't live as long... I would ask are people today any more intelligent than the people of yore?

This is not surprising. Ancient man had to be tough... or he would be eaten by a beast or killed by the bully in the next cave.

The modern development of guns has been a great equalizer. Now weak men can survive and reproduce.
