This is the same old argument.

The opposition likes to think that somehow when we have a gun ban all the criminals will no longer have guns. Everyone knows that this is not the case. If every gun owner in America turned in their guns, the criminals would just smile and feel more comfortable as they invade another home, rape, rob, and kill. If people are allowed to keep a gun the criminal doesn't have a clue who may be able to defend themselves. This allows a residual effect of protecting not only the armed but also the unarmed. The criminal simply will not feel comfortable entering someones house if they have no idea if a gun may be used against them.

If you don't want a gun for yourself, don't get one, but don't tell me I can't have one.

It would have been nice if there was more time to directly answer the audience's questions- rather than the moderator's, or spend time going at it with the "brady" side.
The audience members had legitimate questions they needed answers to, and I think a lot more might have changed their minds in favor had they gotten them.

Great job with this. You and Kleck were titans of truth as you decimated the other panel.

If you beat Helmke in enough debates, maybe he will give up and start selling used cars.
