What other rational would there be to increase the miles per gallon standard besides global climate change considerations?
With advances in auto safety technology, is it really accurate to say that lighter cars will kill more people each year?
Is there any economic analysis demonstrating that a higher tax on gas actually reduces consumption?
Is any portion of the gas tax directly attributable to the aim of reducing gas consumption?
Specific references from reputable journals would be preferable.
