A Couple Republicans in House Make Move on Gun Control
In the lower chamber’s first pivot toward crossing party lines in the debate over gun laws, Republican Reps. Scott Rigell (Va.) and Patrick Meehan (Pa.) joined Democratic Reps. Elijah Cummings (Md.) and Carolyn Maloney (N.Y.) on Tuesday to introduce a bill that would make it a felony to buy a gun with the intent to sell it to someone who is not able to legally purchase a firearm. . . .

How about making it a felony to infringe the right to keep and bear arms?
Is it already a felony? There's no single law specifically targeted at this case. However, it's clearly a violation of several federal laws, including:
* 18 U.S.C. §2 [Aiding & Abetting]
* 18 U.S.C. §371 [Conspiracy]
* 18 U.S.C. §922(a)(6) [Deceiving Statement]
* 18 U.S.C. §924(a)(1)(A) [False Statement]
* 18 U.S.C. §924(a)(3) [FFL False Statement]
* 27 C.F.R. 478.128 [False Statement]
Of course the Department of "Justice" (at least under the current administration) isn't interested in prosecuting those sorts of cases, particularly since that might interfere with the call for more gun control.
