White House says that Obama will go for gun control and immigration this month
From the left-wing Huffington Post:
"An Obama administration official said the president plans to push for immigration reform this January. The official, who spoke about legislative plans only on condition of anonymity, said that coming standoffs over deficit reduction are unlikely to drain momentum from other priorities. The White House plans to push forward quickly, not just on immigration reform but gun control laws as well."

If Obama fails to get congress to act to his liking (vis-a-vis gun control), I wonder if he will try something else - Executive Action of some sort maybe? Could he do that? What does his "full weight" mean? I'm amazed that the public seems to have only a vague notion of the import of the constitution. I always thought it was supposed to be the basis of our law. Isn't it what all government employees swear to uphold?
