The US Unemployment rate is even worse than you think relative to other countries

Since Obama became president, the US unemployment rate has gone up at least as much as the other nine countries that the BLS provides comparable unemployment numbers for. Sweden has as big of an increase as we do up until the May to July 2010 period and the Netherlands ends up about as we do in the end. But our rate has consistently been the worse over the entire period.

These unemployment data are available here.
But the problem is that even these bad numbers for the US understate how bad things are because we have a lot more people just completely leaving the labor force. Only the Netherlands has as big of a drop in the percent of the population employed between 2009 and 2010 as we do, and no one has as big of a drop as we do between 2008 and 2010.

This data is available here.

Markie Marxist sez: "That's because those other countries don't have the high quality, Marxist leadership that we have here in the US. We're doing a better job of taking down capitalism than they are! My commie compadres in other countries are jealous, but we're going to be keeping Obama here for a second term. Ha! Ha! After that, he’ll be free to run the U.N. and wreck capitalism worldwide. Ha! Ha!"
