How can Mayor Daley get guns so backwards?
Speaking out against the legislation, Daley invoked the assassination of Martin Luther King, Junior.
"We have learned nothing from that assassination. We have learned nothing that guns are killing another generation of young people. There have to be more people to stand up. Not those that have lost their loved ones, but anybody standing up on behalf of some child lost today or tomorrow or last week." . . .

Daley would oppose permitted concealed handguns because of hotdogs, and ham and cheese sandwiches.
As Aesop put it, "Any excuse will serve a tyrant".
What was that latin saying about tyrants?
"We have learned nothing that guns are killing another generation of young people."
Who pulls the triggers? Daley makes an accusation of ignorance, but he refuses to admit to who it is who is pulling the triggers on those guns. That is ignorance. Deliberate, politically calculated ignorance.
I'm sorry, but wasn't MLK killed with a rifle? Hardly a concealable weapon.
You don't ever want to confuse a liberal with anything remotely resembling a fact.
Sic semper tyrannis, Chas. Thus always to tyrants. Twas uttered by John Wilkes Booth when he assassinated Lincoln.
Then again, perhaps I should exercise care in saying that here, as I may be branded as a would be assassin myself.
Does it not strike anyone as odd, that Daley worries about such methods that remove tyrants from office? Or that he would say this: "There have to be more people to stand up. Not those that have lost their loved ones, but anybody standing up on behalf of some child lost today or tomorrow or last week." . . .
Daley has excluded I from speaking out. I'm not supposed to speak out because I lost a loved one to a firearm? Only if I lost a child in the past or future? Clearly this clown lacks common sense, and an understanding of the freedom of speech clause.
Personally, I do not think that those whom wish to disarm us would be willing to let me speak about my personal history regarding the results of firearm violence seeing as how my opinion is that the weapon did not load itself, chamber a round all on it's own, nor did it aim itself just before it decided all on it's own to take a life. BAD GUN!
My reasoning for saying the above is an opinion, rather than a fact, is that for some strange reason, the anti gunners ignore the fact that a firearm is simply a tool that requires human action in order to function, and place all of the responsibility on the tool itself. This is a people problem. Not a firearm problem.
Our Founding Fathers had the sense to disallow any restrictions on firearm ownership when the Second Amendment was ratified. For it has always been, that the first act of a Tyrant is to disarm those he wishes to oppress.
Too bad Daley does not read Dr. Lott's Website, eh? Then again, truth is the enemy of those like Daley...
Well what about the herd of armed guards that follows Daley around 24/7? Aren't they all "potential assassins" as well? Or is it somehow DIFFERENT, because they are protecting someone "important"
