Robert Gibbs' modest $172,000 a year salary
Obama apparently announced today that Press Secretary Robert Gibbs' salary of $172,000 is modest. So if Gibbs were to make just $28,000 more a year he would go from being modest to being "wealthy"? Gibbs is married to 37 year old Mary Catherine Gibbs and she is a lawyer. If she makes $78,000, a truly modest salary for a lawyer, the couple would be wealthy by Obama's standards.

Gibbs salary probably IS modest for one who must stand there every day attempting to defend this administration.
I considered offering to do it for half that amount (in the spirit of fiscal sanity), but ultimately decided that I placed a far greater value on my soul.
