Regarding two of the editorials from the Washington Times, 'Happy Days Aren't Here Yet...', the BLS has an interesting bit on it: Table A-12. Alternative measures of labor underutilization' where the Times apparently got their '16.3%' from the U-6 portion...
The other editorial, "Meaningless GDP Numbers..." seems to have a lot in common with the Calculated Risk blog posting Real Declines in GDP...
