I think it is time to cart Al Gore off to the loony bin:

Today I challenge our nation to
commit to producing 100 percent
of our electricity from
renewable energy and truly clean
carbon-free sources within 10
years.
He is proposing throwing away 6,000 U.S. power plants which burn coal, natural gas, and fuel oil and replacing them with some unspecified technology:

My first question for Mr. Gore: Who is suppose to purchase these 6,000 power plants from their current owners just to shut them down?
My second question for Mr. Gore: For the typical solar panel used for electricity generation, how much energy is required to manufacture the panel vs. the amount of usable energy it will produce over its lifetime?
Last question: Does a nuclear power plant count is a clean energy source?
Shooting the messenger is a great way to divert attention from the message.
Great job.
