State Laws on Openly Carrying A Gun
For those interested in the interactive version of this state map of open carry laws see this link. This site has a lot of interesting information, though the only additional information that I would like is on when the different state laws have changed.

As with most of these broad summaries, one needs to take them with a large amount of salt. While technically legal, open carry in many states (e.g., Massachusetts as demonstrated numerous times, and in a recent case in Pennsylvania) will result in one losing one's carry license for being an "unsuitable person".
In the "recent case" in PA, the only "unsuitable person" was the sheriff that revoked the citizens LTCF for no legal reason. IOW: He acted outside the discretion allowed him by law. The case is on appeal and is expected to be won with ease.
