"The animal world has finally taken its revenge on Irwin"

I guess that there are some people that even experts shouldn't be able to be around wild animals.

"Noted feminist critic Germaine Greer" claims that the late Steve Irwin "deserved his fate."

Steve Irwin was fun to watch. He died too early in his life. I think his contribution was by helping many people overcome their fear of animals.

There are too many people who are obsessed with animal rights and are trying to give animals rights equal to humans; this leaves children and weaker individuals in harms way. Animals should not be treated as equals to children. Dangerous predatory animals should not be allowed to co-exist with people; people who live near dangerous animals such as crocodiles, large snakes, bears and wolves should be allowed to defend themselves without fear of prosecution and without being labeled cruel to animals.

Steve Irwin and Germaine Greer both tried to con people into believing we should accept living in close proximity with dangerous animals; and that these powerful predators will not harm us if we do co-exist with them.

Unfortunately Steve Irwin was killed while accepting his own dogma. The ocean, worst than a jungle, harbors dangerous predators that are difficult to see, and can manuever much easier than any human. He entered their domain, followed his rules but not theirs. He shouldn't have gotten so close to something so dangerous.

I find Greer's statement arrogant, reprehensible, mean spirited and extremely offensive. She indeed belongs in a country that is so stupid that they have outlawed self defense. As an American who rehabilitates wildlife in my spare time, I completely identified with the passion that Steve expressed so well. My family is mourning his passing and we know he and his enthusiasm will be sorely missed. Our hearts go out to his family. As a hard core visitor to this web site I must say the one thing that Greer doesn't deserve are her words and attitude given any space or recognition on this site.

What smoldering pit of discarded bras was this dried-up crotchety hag dredged up from?

Greer is beyond pathetic...she's not even lame enough to be funny...she's just an embarrassing carbunkle
