Chipotle asked its customers to stop bringing guns to its restaurants, but has anything actually changed?
The Denver chain, best known for made-to-order burritos and tacos, said Monday that a recent demonstration by gun advocates in one of its restaurants spurred the decision to request that diners refrain from packing heat. The one change that Bloomberg's groups can probably claim some credit for is banning police from carrying their guns with them off-duty at NFL games. Off-duty police have carried guns at games forever without a problem. Now they are worried about these officers.
"Recently participants from an 'open carry' demonstration in Texas brought guns (including military-style assault rifles) into one of our restaurants, causing many of our customers anxiety and discomfort," Chipotle said in a statement Monday.
"Because of this, we are respectfully asking that customers not bring guns into our restaurants, unless they are authorized law enforcement personnel." . . .

In many states "no guns" signs carry no legal weight (Georgia is one of them). So someone can still legally carry a concealed firearm without worrying about breaking the law.
