Responding to Piers Morgan's interview with Alex Jones

After Piers Morgan contacted Dylan Byers over at Politico today about his interview with Alex Jones, I just could not resist also emailing Byers.  Here is what Byers reported on my exchange with him.  For Piers discussion with Byers see:
CNN host Piers Morgan just called to discuss his interview last night with Alex Jones, the conservative radio host and gun advocate who went on a tirade against Morgan, gun control legislation, and a litany of government conspiracies.
"He was the best advertisement for gun control you could wish for," Morgan told POLITICO.
"That kind of vitriol, hatred, and zealotry is really quite scary. I didn't feel threatened by him, but I'm concerned that someone like him has that level of influence," Morgan said. "There's got to be a level of discourse that can rise above what happened last night. It was undignified, unedifying." . . .
Is Piers Morgan really serious about saying that someone else's behavior is "undignified, unedifying"? I tweeted the same point last night, but Piers has been guilty of the exact same behavior

Meanwhile, CNN is considering moving Piers out of the coveted 9 PM time slot.

Hammer John!

This is what I said in rough waves:

"In politically correct New York City, Alex Jones was like a man from another planet. A planet called America.
After the savage abuse that poor Larry Pratt had suffered from Piers Morgan, Alex had a responsibility to be aggressive in his own defense. Morgan very much deserved to be run over by his guest, after what he had done to Mr. Pratt. I didn't hear Alex ever once insult his host or engage in name-calling, which is what the ungentlemanly Mr. Morgan did to Larry Pratt.
I look forward to a rematch.
It's unfortunate that 1776 had to be replayed, with a despotic British general demanding that the colonists surrender their arms, and a simple American, a farmer-like fellow being abused, called names, and beaten down, before an aggressive American patriot took on the British general and beat him down with the forcefulness of his words, the courage of his conviction, and the determination for which we Americans have been always known. Bravo! Alex Jones! Give us more! For God’s sake, we need it!"

Contrast Morgan's behavior when he interviewed Mr. Lott or Larry Pratt with his behavior here. In the former cases, he kept interrupting and refused them the opportunity to state the facts and make their case. In this instance, he sits back and lets Jones ramble on and on. It couldn't be more obvious what Morgan was thinking if there was a thought balloon over his head saying, "I'm going to give this guy enough rope to hang himself".
