Professor Lott, as to your last point in the interview that you haven't seen any place worldwide where the data show a decrease in violent crime as a result of increased gun control. What about Australia? Are MSM news reports accurate that Australia's gun control ban as a result of the mass killings in Port Arthur has lead to a subsequent decrease in violent crime, murders, etc? If so, what conclusions, if any, can we draw about a nation with 7% of the US population in roughly the same geographic area?

ReplyDeleteHomicide in Australia has decreased somewhat since the measures implemented in 1996, but only slightly. And it was already decreasing before hand.
