"Many" Congressmen Do What Rangel Does on Disclosure Forms
Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) said on Morning Joe today that she doesn't think Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) should step down as chairman of the Ways and Means Committee because of an ongoing ethics committee investigation for alleged offenses including not reporting income on tax and financial disclosure forms and renting apartments at below-market value (Here's TPMmuckraker's most recent rundown of the allegations.) Waters also suggested that Rangel may not be alone in the House in failing to properly fill out disclosure forms. . . . .
"I wanna tell you, there are many members who if you go back over all of their records over the years, you're going to find that there are disclosures that were not made."

This is an excuse?
Many congresscritters don't disclose income and abuse rent-control laws? With no comebacks?
Then why have the forms?
It certainly makes no sense to have an Ethics committee when the Speaker alone decides what to do, who to punish.
Waste of time and money, and another lie to appease the schlubs outside the Beltway.
Pelosi's tirades about the Rep "culture of corruption" are beginning to look more like explosions of frustration at amateurs...now Reps can really learn how to do corruption.
So, because "they" all do it, none of them should be punished?
We are of no concern to the elite. WE gave that up a long time ago. WE failed to hold them accountable, so they ran wild...Lord Of The Flies style. Now WE need to take back that which WE gave. If it needs to be Lord Of The Flies style, then so be it. The critters in Washington had better heed the anger that is rising up.
