Andrew Breitbart has another great op-ed

From Monday's Washington Times:

If ever there were a candidate destined to shine on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," Sarah Palin would be that woman.

In less than a week, the Alaska governor, former PTA member and 44-year-old mother of five - including an infant with Down syndrome - survived a vicious press assault on her family only to win over the majority of Americans with her brave and unapologetic speech at the Republican National Convention last week.

In a media instant, Sarah Palin went from an unknown moose hunter to a mass phenomenon on the precipice of becoming the vice president of the United States.

She is the Oprah audience personified - an unlikely feminist icon that braved the storm while deftly protecting her children. Many already are saying she has the inside track for the top slot in 2012.

Mrs. Palin is history in a dress. And her script is straight out of Hollywood - like those teen movies with the cliched ending featuring the female valedictorian delivering the speech of a lifetime projecting a bold and transformative future with an independent-minded woman in charge.

That future is now.

Women want to get to know Sarah Palin. And they want to meet her family.

Yet Oprah Winfrey, the high priestess of the female empowerment movement and America's most adored television host, denies her massive and loyal audience's most obvious wishes because of her single-minded drive to put Barack Obama in the White House. . . .

Yeah, that is a good Op-Ed.

I'm not quite sure how to put this, but there seems to be great irony here.

On the one hand, you have Obama the Uniter, pledging that as president he'll perform his magic and make strident disagreement and nasty discourse disappear.

Then, you have Oprah supporting the Uniter by denying her viewers a look at the upstart and — dare I say "unworthy other" — Palin.

And finally, you have the responses of Oprah's coterie to her single-minded support of the Uniter, which ranges from disappointment, through disgust, to anger and beyond into rage.

True — one can't blame Obama for such discord, but it does seem ironic to me that a decision by Obama's most prominent celebrity supporter should produce such a heated and divisive outcome.

He left out a very important detail in his attack on Matt Damon: The truth.

I read his whiny rant titled Bad Will Hunting and noticed that he, as per the MO of those on the Right, engaged in the political equivalent of yelling fire in a crowed theatre when there is none.

No comments were made up regarding Palin’s lies that the world is young and that man and dinosaurs lived together. At worst she was paraphrased by the satirical claims.

Palin has stated her bat crap insane whack-job lies to someone in the Media. This stuff is not made up.

. . . “I pushed her on the earth's creation, whether it was really less than 7,000 years old and whether dinosaurs and humans walked the earth at the same time. And she said yes, she'd seen images somewhere of dinosaur fossils with human footprints in them.” . . .

Once you start telling bat crap crazy whack-job lies like the lie that the Earth is nowhere close to the 4.5 billion years old that it is, or that man and dinosaur lived together when close to 65 million years separates them; a minor variation regarding putting dinosaurs in our pickup trucks and/or the Earth is around 7,000 years old; is NOTHING compared to the vast, vast gulf between the truth and lies she spews.

And even if Obama were a real Muslin instead of someone’s fantasy E-Mail Muslim, and had he also attended a madrassa in Afghanistan instead of a public school like he did; he would still be no closer to the Taliban’s ideology than Palin currently is.
