Concealed handgun opponents focus on no training requirement in Georgia
Some opponents believe this new gun bill will cause huge problems. Unlike many other states, Georgia doesn't require you to have any type of practice or training to get a gun permit. . . .

Has Georgia got any figures to show there is a problem with the current requirements?
Oddly, Alice Johnson of Georgians for Gun Safety was invited, but GeorgiaCarry.Org, the main Georgia group supporting the bill (HB 89), was not invited and never heard about this gathering until the news report came out. I wonder why? Could it be that the gathering did not want to hear any viewpoint other than their own?
Somebody should tell the police officer that signs have no legal weight in Georgia, either before or after the passage of HB 89. He needs to read up on his criminal trespass law.
On the issue of training, they could read your book, More Guns, Less Crime. Is there any other study out there addressing training in the states?
Oregon does not have any shooting requirement, just an NRA approved classroom safety course or prior military experience. Even though I'd taken hunter's safety courses and a safety course at the Izaak Walton League in Cedar Rapids, Iowa that wasn't good enough for Oregon.
Utah has no shooting requirement, which is why Utah has so many permit holders wreaking havoc....
Oh, no, wait. They don't. Sorry.
