The tariffs, introduced to stop cheap Chinese imports entering Europe, can add up to 66% to the price of bulbs. . . . .

The cheaper Chinese energy-efficient bulbs may not be the bargain many think...as they are lower quality and have a tendency to fail sooner than more expensive domestic brands.
Still...tarrifs ain't the answer...public awareness of shoddy products should do the trick ;-)
