Defensive gun use stop burglary in Kentucky 7/20

HERALD-LEADER STAFF REPORT: A 19-year-old Lexington woman was arrested and charged Friday in connection with a home invasion Monday.

Jessica C. Merrick, 19, was charged with burglary. She was the third suspect charged. On Tuesday, police arrested and charged Jordan Allen Moore, 19, with burglary and terroristic threatening. Michael Black, 18, was charged Wednesday with burglary.

Early Monday, two men reported that two other men had forcibly entered a home in the 300 block of Pinewood Court.

When one of the victims confronted the burglars with a gun, the burglars fled. The victims received a call later from the suspects, who threatened violence, police said.
