Is Lethal Injection Unconstitutional for Death Penalty?

The Supreme Court heard the case this week. Kennedy may very well be the swing vote on this case, and I do not take comfort from the way this question is being asked.

The fact that a court is even interested in hearing these arguments infuriates me. I am an anesthesiologist and the drugs used in executions are identifcal to those used by nearly all anesthesiologists for general anesthesia with the exception of potassium. Patients are delighted with the results.

Potasium will cause cardia fibrillation long before any of the other two drugs have worn off.

This is just a waist of our tax dollars.

I agree. The notion that the death penalty must involve absolutely no pain seems strange. It is just an example of how far out of control the courts have gotten.
