Many SOTU guests will be used to highlight gun control

Hidaya Pendleton, the 15-year-old majorette who had performed during the weekend of Obama's inauguration, who was killed as a result of a gang fight in Chicago isn't going to be stopped by any gun control measures being discussed.  I have a hard time seeing how her death accelerated calls for gun control.

USA Today:
The parents of Hidaya Pendleton, the 15-year-old girl killed during a random shooting last month in Chicago, will be among the guests sitting with the first lady during Tuesday night's address by President Obama to a joint session of Congress. . . .
Hidaya's death accelerated calls for gun-control legislation; Obama is expected to discuss his legislative package to combat gun violence during his State of the Union speech. . . .
From the Los Angeles Times:
Nugent's invitation, which came from Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas), was announced Monday, about the time Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) announced she had invited Josh Stepakoff, a 20-year-old California man who was injured in a San Fernando Valley shooting when he was a child. . . .
Among the guests will be Natalie Hammond, a teacher at Sandy Hook who was injured in the shooting; Carlos Soto Jr., whose sister, 27-year-old teacher Victoria Soto, was killed while trying to protect students at Sandy Hook; and a mother and daughter who live in Newtown, Conn., but were not involved in the shooting. . . .
From The Hill Newspaper:
Former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) and her husband, Mark Kelly will attend President Obama’s State of the Union address as guests of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Rep. Ron Barber (D-Ariz.), a Barber aide told CBS News. . . .

Words fail! Just how low can they go? Seriously!
The recently deceased young lady shot in a "drive by" by a gang member - Are we supposed to conveniently forget that the weapon used was, most probably, stolen or purchased on the "black market" (no 'background check' here!)and the shooter - undoubtably a criminal, and thus, never able to obtain a gun legally. And, of course, it all happened in an area "protected" by one of the most stringent gun control laws in the country, overseen by Mayor Emanuel, Obama's former Chief of Staff, long time friend and fellow "true believer" in the benefits of draconian gun laws. Is this young ladies "backstory" supposed to engender a desire to emulate the "Chicago Way" in firearms policy?
I hope the opposition's "rebuttal" will point out some of these things, and many others as well.
This "big lie" business is getting very tiring.

Why is it that family members that have lost a loved one due to some criminal or deranged individual who do understand that it is not the tool itself but the person using the tool that is ultimately responsible for the death of said loved one are not given airtime on an equal basis?

There are those out there who do support the Second Amendment even in the face of their loss. They also understand the costs of freedom, and what price is exacted for such freedom.

To deny all the right to keep and bear arms only increases the chances of someone else losing a family member, yet these anti gun idiots still push forward their lies and agenda by playing on emotions instead of facts.

People die all the time for various reasons, be they automobiles, TV's falling on children, bicycles, ATV's, etc. So where are all the angry people crying out to ban the above items?

What we have here, are folks whom are so weak, they refuse to face the truth. They fear themselves and in doing so fear others. Perhaps those who fear know that deep down inside they are not much different from those who have commited these crimes against them.
