Disarmed soldiers not much of a deterrence

From ABC News.

Cone said that a gunman entered a facility known as the Soldier Readiness Facility, where soldiers who are preparing to deploy go for last minute medical check ups and dental treatment. Sources told ABC News that the soldiers gathered there were getting ready to deploy to Iraq.

The gunman used two handguns, Cone said. He wasn't sure if the shooter reloaded the weapons during the attack.

"The gunman opened fire and essentially due to the quick respond of the police forces was killed," said Cone.

The shooter was killed by civilian law enforcement and one police officer died in the shootout, Cone said. . . . .

I find it incredulous that the Army, on the largest military base in the world, has to call the police for such a situation. The police couldn't be that quick as Hasan killed at least 13 and wounded over 30. With the arsenal they have, calling 911 seems like an ironic joke.

Markie Marxist sez: "Americans may not have a right to keep and bear arms, but they certainly have a right to be disarmed and massacred! Ha! Ha! Our Marxist gun ban agenda rules!"

On the face of it this incident doesn't support two of your advocacy points. Fort Hood is one of the most heavily armed places in the world, but a classic mass shooting turned out to be just as viable here as anywhere else. And then on top of that it looks like it was a female police officer who stopped him.

Maybe it's time to pull these soldiers out of Iraq and Afghanistan. Don't ban guns, ban the war

Ban wars, not guns

We have a military to defend us, but they can't even defend themselves. Why is that?

"The gunman opened fire and essentially due to the quick respond of the police forces was killed," said Cone."

"Quick"? 42 people shot and Cone calls the response "quick"?

Our soldiers were disarmed, set up to be massacred and then actually massacred, and all of that was done by US Army officers.
The officers who enabled or perpetrated this should be facing court martial and a firing squad for murder or dereliction of duty in wartime. It should only be necessary to execute one or two of the enablers for the rest to get the message: you will protect the lives of your soldiers or you will forfeit your own life.
The anti-American, Marxist-in-Chief, who doesn't like guns or our military and has proven incompetent to lead our military, as well as a failure as president, should be impeached and replaced with someone who can handle the job.
