The New York TImes as a reminder of the influence that Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged has had. In particular, it mentions how the book has shaped the feelings of many corporate executives.

John,

My all-time favorite book. I first read it 11 years ago. This year I've started reading it again, this time out loud to my wife so that she can enjoy the book together with me as I relive the excitement of the story, message and philosophy of Ayn Rand.

Have you heard anything more on the movie plans? Last I heard Angela Jolie was slated to play Dagny.

It was a very important book.

What you heard is the last thing that I had heard. But it has been a few years so I am dubious that it is going to work out.

*cough splutter*

Angelina Jolie playing Dagny? WTF?

Wouldn't the Hollywood nitwit burst into flames or something?

Undoubtedly the single most influential book I ever read. It shaped my philosophical views of the roles of man, business, and government.

A pity is isn't required reading in every high school in the free world (or even required reading by every politician).
